Install the browser extension

VaultKeep isn’t on the extension stores yet, so it installs manually. This works on desktop browsers — mobile Chrome doesn’t support extensions (use the installable app on phones instead).

Chrome & Edge

  1. 1Download and unzip the file above.
  2. 2Go to chrome://extensions (Edge: edge://extensions).
  3. 3Turn on Developer mode (top-right).
  4. 4Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  5. 5Pin VaultKeep from the puzzle-piece menu, open it, and log in or create your vault.

Firefox

  1. 1Download the file above (no need to unzip).
  2. 2Go to about:debugging.
  3. 3Click This Firefox → Load Temporary Add-on…
  4. 4Select the downloaded .zip. VaultKeep appears in your toolbar.

Heads up: a temporary add-on is removed when you close Firefox. A permanent install needs the extension to be signed by Mozilla (AMO), which isn’t set up yet.

The extension talks to the same backend as this site — your vault stays in sync.
